For this week, Teachers and other educators alike can go to participating McDonald's locations and receive a free breakfast meal.
The entrée choices are an Egg McMuffin, bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, or a sausage biscuit. The drink choices are a medium hot or iced coffee or soft drink. Menu options can vary.
All they have to do is to show a valid ID at either drive-thru or the counter.
The only real catch is there’s a limit of one per person during breakfast hours, which can vary by location, but usually end at 10:30 a.m.
The 5-day giveaway was greatly inspired by two things: (1) last year’s giveaway to first-responders and (2) Teacher appreciation campaigns at local restaurants.
During a recent interview with USA Today, McDonald’s vice president of marketing, brand content, and engagement; Jennifer “JJ” Healan had this, to sum up, their objective for the campaign.
“We wanted to build on that idea and thank our educators in our communities for all that they’ve been doing and what they do really every day, It truly is just a gesture for us to say thank you.”
Back in Spring 2020, the fast-food chain managed to give out over 12 million meals to healthcare workers, firefighters, paramedics, and police officers.
Maybe this year’s total meals will be higher.

Don’t believe it? Watch this teacher’s reaction!
If you want to continue supporting teachers this week, go on Twitter, TikTok, or Instagram using #ThankYouMeal through Oct. 15.
McDonald’s reps said it’ll do shoutouts to some messages on its channels, and local owners and operators will surprise teachers with breakfast delivery at their schools.
Wow, what a great week to be an educator!
