Not again snap..app down, again, after glitch and outage warning

Below is the sequence of events.

The app started to glitch, displaying a black screen with the text “Please swipe up to see what’s behind this snap” appearing at the top. People were getting notifications saying “You Can’t Post Right Now” or “Sign Out and Try Again Later.”

Users reported that they couldn’t access their account, upload new snaps, or delete old ones. This started occurring after 6.

Users were completely outraged and the more time pass, the more users started signing into other platforms.

Guess that’s one way to pass the time or you can keep the tweets coming.

Constant reminder of the year.

Maybe we should leave it to the professionals. About forty-five minutes later, Snapchat support acknowledges the issue users are facing with the app being down. Here’s what they said:

“We’re aware of an issue preventing some Snapchatters from logging in. Hang tight, we are looking into it and working on a fix!”

It’s been over two hours and still some users are experiencing problems with their apps.

This isn’t the first time this has happened.

The app shut down for the first time back in April 2017, due to a “server issue”, but went back up a half hour later.

It was also shut down a few months later, but was back up in about 20 minutes.

This shutdown happened just one day after Snapchat announced that it’s advertising products which were headed up by Christopher Vollmer, who used to be the Chief Revenue Officer at Hulu. He has been with Snap Inc since February 2018.

Other times included October 2020 and most recent twice last month.

Users should be used to the occasional crash by now. Interestingly, Snap Inc has recently released their Quarterly reports. According to Google, 53% of all internet users aged between 15 and 25 years use Snapchat.

The increase makes sense since the Pandemic. As a middle child of Millennial and Gen Z, this is pure comedy gold. Some people agree.

Update:

The reason for the shutdown is still unknown as Snap Inc has yet to release any shutdown update on Twitter or its blog.

Snapchat still remains one of the most popular social media apps in the world with over 300 million users.

Man, social media dependency is real.
